R. F. Hodge masterfully blends grit, pain, and truth in a multigenerational tale that both shocks and moves the reader. I couldn’t put it down.

Brilliantly written and chillingly real. Every chapter felt like a punch to the gut—and I mean that in the best way possible.

This book is not for the faint of heart, but it’s exactly what historical fiction should be—unflinching, powerful, and absolutely unforgettable.

A haunting legacy of violence and control, brought to life by a writer unafraid to explore the ugly truths. This is a story that stays with you.

The kind of book that leaves you stunned in silence when it ends. This is literary courage in its rawest form.

I’ve never read anything like it. A Southern gothic family saga that feels like Faulkner meets Breaking Bad. Breathtaking.
